Family owned Coal Pit from Gibbston in Central Otago, New Zealand, is committed to producing world class wines from their on-site winery and recently BioGro certified organic vineyard, where only small volumes are produced annually. Glacially formed schist based soils on warm north facing slopes consistently yield well integrated wines of great structure and elegance.

The flagship ‘Tiwha’ Pinot Noir, named for the owner’s late father, has been awarded multiple trophies at the prestigious International Wine Challenge, firmly placing Coal Pit on the world stage.
