Description

Influenced by the cool, maritime climate of the Marlborough region, Mumm Marlborough is distinctive sparkling wine with naturally high acidity. With flinty complexity and delightful red berry notes, this sparkling offers a lively brightness balanced with elegance and finesse.

ON THE NOSE Notes of fresh fruit including red cherry and lemon citrus are complemented by notes of biscuit and brioche.

ON THE PALATE After a frank and lively attack, these notes permit a beautiful balance on the palate. The wine has a tense and attractive structured finish.

Product Range

Celebrating regions known for producing exceptional Pinot Noir, the Mumm Terroirs collection is a range of wines that showcase a true sense of place crafted using the Methode Traditionnelle technique.

Winemaker

Jamie Marfell

Viticulture

Pinot Noir (53%), Chardonnay (41%), and Pinot Meunier (6%) with grapes sourced and handpicked from 100% owned vineyards across the Marlborough sub-regions of the Wairau Valley, Southern Valleys and Awatere Valley. All three varieties were harvested separately at optimal sugar ripeness.

Vinification

After gentle pressing, all parcels were fermented separately either in seasoned French oak Cuvees or Stainless steel and left on lees whilst undergoing full malolactic fermentation. Assemblage of the final blend consists of strength and intensity of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier combined with the elegant freshness from Chardonnay grapes, which were all hand-picked from the best New Zealand terroirs. The use of carefully selected reserve wines and extended lees ageing of more than 20 months gives the wine complexity and an intensity.
